Hi everyone, welcome to Year 5 web page. We are a hard-working bunch who love learning and experiencing new things. We have lots to do and we are so proud of all the work that goes on so please keep visiting our class page here to stay updated on our learning. Hope you enjoy finding out all about our learning in Year 5. 

A Typical School Day in Year 5 

8:45am - Morning Mental Maths  

9:15 – 10:30am - Numeracy 

10:30am - Break 

10:45 – 11:30am - Literacy 

11:30 – 12:30pm - Curricular areas such as The World Around Us, Religion, Personal Development and Mutual Understanding 

12:35pm - Lunch  

1:20 – 1:40pm – Reading 

1:40 – 3:00pm - Curricular areas such as The World Around Us, Religion, Personal Development and Mutual Understanding  

What to bring to school each day 

  • Homework 
  • Water bottle 
  • Coat 
  • Snack 
  • PE kit in on a Monday and home on a Friday  

Useful Information (PE, Music days etc) 

  • Monday- After school Gaelic with Tiernan  
  • Tuesday – PE – Gaelic with Tiernan 
  • Wednesday – After school Cross Country  
  • Thursday – Tin whistle with James, Irish with Mrs McMahon  
  • Friday – Dance with Chris  

Homework: 

Homework is set each night for the children: 

Monday: Literacy, spellings, times tables and reading 

Tuesday: Mental Maths, spelling worksheet, times tables and reading 

Wednesday: Comprehension, spellings, times tables and reading 

Thursday: Numeracy, spelling worksheet, times tables and reading   

 

Notes: 

Please label all items of clothing, lunch boxes etc.
