Welcome to Year 4. 

We love learning new things, experiencing lots of new activities like Choir, Tin-Whistle. Roots of Empathy and Accelerated Reader and having fun with our friends.  

This is a very special year for P4 as we will be making both our First Confession and our First Holy Communion.  

A Typical School Day in Year 4: 

9.00 a.m.  à  School Begins 

9:30 à Literacy 

10.30 a.m. à Break  

10:45 à Numeracy 

12.35 p.m. à Lunch 

1:20 à Quiet Reading 

1:45 à Curricular areas such as The World Around Us, Religion, Personal Development and Mutual Understanding 

3.00 p.m. à School Ends. 

What to bring to school each day: 

Homework / Reading. 

Water Bottle. 

Snack  

Appropriate Coat for outdoors. 

P.E. Kit on Monday to remain in school all week. 

Useful Information (PE, Music days etc): 

Monday – Football with Tiernan 

Tuesday - 

Wednesday –  Dance with Chris 

Thursday – Tin-Whistle with James, Irish with Mrs McMahon, Roots of Empathy with Miss Mallon 

Friday – Golden Time 

Homework: 

Homework will be set each night.  

Monday & Wednesday – Literacy      

Tuesday & Thursday – Spelling worksheet & Numeracy. 

Reading will take place each night using AR Book / Novel on alternate nights. 

Notes: 

Please label all items of clothing, lunch boxes, water bottles, PE bags etc.
